Sarah Schurian

Conceptual Artist & Textile Artist

The combination of my studies in non-profit management and my current course at the Berlin University of the Arts reflects my interdisciplinary approach to the visualisation of subversive themes with a focus on textiles. Here you find my project RAUMKOERPER:

Person wearing a gray outfit with red straps, face partially covered by hands, blurry background.
Blurred image of a person wearing a beige outfit with blue accents, in motion against a light background.
Blurred image of a person sitting, wearing a beige outfit
Blurred motion photo of person in beige outfit against white wall.
Blurred artistic photo of a person with curly hair wearing a light sweater, bending forward in a soft-focus effect.
SPARTS – THE INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTS COLLECTIVE brings together interdisciplinary creatives from fields such as art, design, photography and music to create visionary art.

RAUMKOERPER is a dance reflection of our society in relation to privileges that take up space and discrimination that takes away space. The clothing designed for the dancers supports the principle of giving space and restricting space.

To underline the concept of RAUMKOERPER, clothes have been designed to manipulate the dancers movement and space.
